How to linearize your printerYou have equipped your inkjet printer with a RIP and it’s printing accurate proofs every time. Many believe that, once a printer configured, and on condition that settings, papers, or reference are not changed, the printer will remain consistent forever. But printers drift over time and so do the colors they print. In order to get the printer back to its original state, you have to linearize it. Most current printers are equipped with a built-in spectrophotometer (or densitometer in Canon’s case) and, once configured, linearize the printer automatically and regularly, using the RIP’s linearization software. In Epson’s case, the spectrophotometer (SpectroProofer) is optional. Without a RIP, this process is not possible. If you have an inkjet printer with a RIP, but no built-in spectrophotometer, we recommend that you purchase an i1Basic Pro (www.i1upgrades.com) and learn the process of linearizing your printer. Only then can you count on consistent, accurate and predictable color for a very long time. By using the code UPGRADE5228, you will receive a total of 10% off the unit. For instructions on how to linearize your printer, start by downloading the appropriate PDF file. When you purchase your i1BasicPro, you will receive 10 minutes of free support and the opportunity of purchasing more instruction at 10% off. PDFs:
