End of First Quarter Insights

We're almost at the end of Q1, so we wanted to share some things we learned over the last few months.

The first quarter revealed some clear patterns across print operations, which we can use to create more productive Q2’s.

The shops adapting successfully are building workflows that let skilled operators focus on complex problems while automation handles routine tasks, and keeps projects moving seamlessly.

AI moved from speculation to implementation. Many shops are using AI for specific tasks like automated quality inspection and predictive maintenance, not replacing entire workflows or trusted, skilled employees. We’ve noticed that the practical applications are narrower but more valuable than the original hype suggested.

Sustainability tracking has become a standard requirement. Customers aren't just asking if your operation is sustainable, they want data proving it. The shops prepared with tracking and measurement systems have a competitive advantage when it comes to the much more frequent eco-conscious clients and customers we’ve been meeting lately.

Equipment uptime became the critical metric. With tight labor and tight timelines, unexpected downtime hurts more than ever, and predictive maintenance investments are paying off faster than expected.

We’re ready for the flowers to bloom and the sun to come out, but Spring typically brings different challenges than Winter, so let’s be ready for it. 🌼
